Boric Acid H3BO3 or B(OH)3 is a weak, inorganic, water-soluble Lewis acid often found as colorless crystals or a white powder, commonly used as an antiseptic, insecticide and flame retardant. It is widely used in household pest control, pharmaceutical products, industrial manufacturing and to manage nuclear reactor neutron absorption.

Applications of Boric Acid Powder:

  • Pest Control: It acts as an insecticide against cockroaches, ants, termites and silverfish by disrupting their digestive systems.

  • Industrial: It is used in the production of fiberglass, flat panel displays and as a component in glazes and enamels. It acts as a lubricant on surfaces like carrom boards.
