Formalin 37%

Formalin 37% is a saturated aqueous (water) solution of formaldehyde gas, commonly referred to as "100% formalin". It is a highly pungent, colorless liquid widely used as a tissue preservative, embalming fluid, disinfectant and chemical raw material for synthetic resins. It is primarily used as a powerful disinfectant, tissue fixative and chemical intermediate in various medical, industrial and agricultural applications.

Applications of Formalin 37%:

• Industrial & Manufacturing:

• Resin Production: Formalin 37% acts as a fundamental chemical precursor for manufacturing industrial resins, including urea-formaldehyde and phenol-formaldehyde, which are used to make plywood, particleboard and plastics.

• Textile & Paper: Formalin 37% is utilized as an agent in fabric finishing to make textiles crease-resistant and waterproof.

• Biocide, Disinfection & Agriculture:

• Disinfectant: Its strong antibacterial and antifungal properties make it effective for sanitizing hard surfaces and sterilizing equipment (with strict professional oversight).

• Agriculture & Aquaculture: It functions as a germicide and fungicide. It is occasionally used in aquaculture to treat parasites on fish.

• Preservative: Formalin 37% is used to preserve biological specimens and coagulate rubber latex.
