Phosphoric Acid 85%

Phosphoric Acid 85% is a high-purity, concentrated mineral acid (H3PO4) primarily used in industrial and food-grade applications. It is a colorless, odorless and viscous "syrupy" liquid known for its corrosive properties and ability to act as a triprotic acid. It is also known as orthophosphoric acid or phosphoric(V) acid, it is a non-toxic, weak acid used extensively in fertilizer production, food additives (like cola) rust removal and pH regulation.

Applications of Phosphoric Acid 85%:

• Agriculture and Fertilizer Production: Around 80–90% of industrial phosphoric acid is used to produce phosphate fertilizers (e.g., TSP, DAP) and animal/poultry feed.

• Metal Treatment and Surface Treatment: It is used in metal phosphating to prevent corrosion, passivation and for electro-polishing. It also acts as a powerful metal cleaner and rust remover (descaler).

• Industrial and Institutional Cleaning: Due to its high acidity, it is used to remove scale, mineral deposits and inorganic contaminants in industrial settings.

• Chemical Manufacturing: It is used as a raw material in the production of phosphate salts, detergents, polyphosphates and water treatment chemicals.

• Food and Beverage Processing: Phosphoric Acid lower concentrations are often used for direct consumption, this grade is used for refining sugar and as an acidulant/nutrient in food and drink production.

• Specialized Industrial Applications: It is used in, textile processing, dental cement production and as an organic reaction catalyst.

• Other Uses: Phosphoric Acid is employed in the sugar industry for clarification and as an electrolyte in fuel cells.
