Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC) is a highly efficient inorganic polymer coagulant, often referred to as PAC, PACl or Basic Aluminium Chloride. It is used primarily for water treatment, purification and industrial effluent treatment. It acts faster and forms larger floc than traditional alum, operating effectively across a wide pH (5–9) and temperature range while reducing residual aluminium. It works by neutralizing charges on suspended particles, forming heavy flocs that settle faster than traditional alternatives like alum, resulting in less sludge.

Applications of Poly Aluminium Chloride:

Drinking Water Treatment: It is used in municipal water treatment plants for purification, efficiently removing turbidity and colloidal particles.

Oil and Gas Industry: It acts as an oil-water emulsion destabilizer, improving efficiency in oil refining.
Cosmetics and Personal Care: Poly Aluminium Chloride serves as a key active ingredient in antiperspirants and deodorants, creating a barrier to reduce sweat.
