SLES stands for Sodium Laureth Sulfate (or Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate). SLES is a widely used, inexpensive anionic surfactant and foaming agent derived from palm or coconut oil. It is known for its excellent cleansing and emulsifying properties, SLES is common in personal care (shampoos, soaps) and household products (detergents). It is typically found in 28%-70% concentrations and is considered milder than Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS).
