Sodium Thiosulphate (Na2S2O3) is a colorless, inorganic crystalline compound commonly known as "Hypo" or sodium hyposulfite. It acts as a versatile reducing agent and chelator, with the pentahydrate (Na2S2O3.5H2O) form being the most common. It is a versatile reducing agent used primarily to fix photographs, dechlorinate water (in aquariums and municipal systems) and as a medical antidote for cyanide poisoning. It is highly soluble in water.
